ANTARES (formerly ARES) is a software "sim" (see Trick) developed at NASA JSC. ANTARES has many advanced features, including the ability to run at 92% real time (so a 21 day simulation will only take 19.32 days to run), and the ability to generate a core dump after every run.

ARES was renamed ANTARES to avoid confusion after NASA announced that the name of the Constellation lunar rocket (since canceled) would be called Ares.
