A Smoking jacket is the ultimate garment of sophistication. It was created in 1813 by Captain Horatio Macshearwater who wanted something more comfortable than a traditional frock coat to wear after a hard day of grueling exploration, but still did not want to look like a rube.
It is mandatory that members wear one inside the Bacliff Exploration Society headquarters building and is the official jacket of the society.
