No one knows its true origin or purpose, but leading scientists of the Bacliff Exploration Society theorize that it was created when an itinerant scientist crashed his cold-fusion powered spacecraft into a space whale grazing for space krill around the Earth. It is suspected the crash occurred during the Great Expansion started by the 72nd Galactic Emperor.
