Gin Rummy is a card game named after the favorite afternoon drink of the players. The game requires two packs of cards and two bottles each of rum and gin. It is a rather raucous game and leads to numerous fist fights and brawls among the participants.
The first play makes a wager of a number of crocheted doilies, the wagering continues around the table until all the participants are bored. The cards are then distributed equally to all players.
