Thomas Cuthbert Campbell III was a renowned polar explorer and highland chieftain. He was a member of the Scottish National Antarctic Expedition, where his main job was to placate deadly penguins by serenading them with his bagpipes.
He was the nephew of the famous engineer Horatio Mitchell "Mitch" Campbell.
