Ezspanad

The Ezspanad (plural Ezspanadi) are a galactic species that make up the Ezspana Federation. They are historically are the allies of the Fransesite Empire and joined with them against the Royal Space Navy. The capital of the Federation is on the planet of Rugola Zha, but is comprised of 13 separate, semi-autonomous solar systems.

Biology

The Ezspanadi are quadruped humanoids with a thick torso arising from the center of their legs. They have a pair of arms ending in clawed hands, no neck and large heads. Most of their bodies are covered in blue feathers. The shade of the feathers differs between individuals. They are voracious omnivores. The are known to breathe Nitrogen and exhale nitrous oxide.

History

Not much is known about the origins of the Ezspanad and the Federation. Approximately 5000 years ago, the Ezspanadi discovered space travel and over the intervening years, various groups left the home planet to colonize nearby solar systems. Since many these systems border the Fransesite Empire, and the Ezspanadi are not very shrewd traders, contact between the two peoples has been widespread but non-confrontational. The modern Federation was create about 1000 years ago for common security after they made contact with a unknown alien race.
