A cubicle is a box created to constrain engineers to prevent them taking joy in their surroundings. The common configuration is an open top box (about 1 engineer high) with an open doorway that allows all the ambient noise to filter in. The sides of the cubicle are opaque to prevent the distraction from a window. Newer cubicle designs strap the engineer in place for the duration of there work shift to prevent socialization, team building, or high moral.
