A Griffin is an unholy chimera created by the ancients of long ago. It was a lion with the head and wings, and occasionally feet, of an eagle. It was the most powerful of the bird-beast hybrids created in the days of old. No one knows how or where they were originally brought into being. They were reported to live in the deserts of Asia and Africa. Since 1600, no new griffin sightings have been reported. They are believed to be extinct due to hunting to harvest their wings as aircraft parts.
