Asteroid

An asteroid is a space rock. They can be made from dirt, rock, ice, derelict spacecraft or a combination of any of these. They are known for causing destruction planet bound civilizations.

Some groups of humans believe that they can be profitable mined due Earth's current lack of dirt, rock, and water. Humanity was nearly destroyed when the plan to place and asteroid in orbit around the Moon went awry.
