Mitchell Horatio Campbell (also known as "Big Mitch") was a colorful character from Texas history. The illegitimate son of a minor Scottish laird, he fled to the US in 1861 after a dispute with some local highlanders over a missing haggis. He fought in the Civil War, but no records indicate on which side. After the war, he made his fortune as a emu rancher in Texas. In 1898, he won the ship HMS Solitaire in a game of snooker, in spite of not knowing how to actually play the game.

He was the father of Horatio Mitchell "Mitch" Campbell.
